This World Health Day, we’re shining a light on something that could make a life-changing difference: knowing how to perform CPR. Every year, more than 30,000 people in the UK experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Sadly, less than one in ten survive. But the chances of survival can more than double when CPR is given alongside the use of a defibrillator.

The question is: would you know what to do if someone nearby went into cardiac arrest?

Thanks to the British Heart Foundation’s free online training tool, RevivR, learning how to save a life is now easier than ever.

What is RevivR?

RevivR is a 15-minute, interactive CPR training session you can complete on your mobile, tablet or computer. There’s no need to download an app, attend a class or buy any equipment. All you need is a cushion. It’s simple, free, and could make all the difference in an emergency.

What You’ll Learn

Through step-by-step guidance, RevivR helps you:

  • Recognise the signs of cardiac arrest

  • Know when and how to call 999 with a simulated practice call

  • Practice your CPR technique with real-time feedback

  • Understand how to use a defibrillator and locate your nearest one

You’ll even receive a personalised CPR certificate at the end of the training!

Why It Matters

Most cardiac arrests happen in the home, in public, or in the workplace and often in front of friends, family or colleagues. In these moments, confidence and quick action can be critical. Taking just 15 minutes out of your day can equip you with the skills to act fast and potentially save a life.

Take the First Step Today

This World Health Day, commit to learning something that truly matters. Whether you’re a student, staff member, or simply someone who wants to be prepared, RevivR is for you.
